This blog is designed to serve as a giant "get well soon" greeting card for ESPN television personality Lee Corso as he recovers from a recent stroke. No matter what team you cheer for -- whether Lee has donned your team's mascot head zero times or a hundred-- college football fans across the USA and around the world want to send best wishes to Lee for a speedy and full recovery.
According to an ESPN release, Corso suffered no permanent damage and plans on being back for the kickoff of the 2009 college football season.
I'm sure that there are thousands of fans who can't picture fall Saturday mornings without a healthy helping of "Not so fast, my friend", and I encourage each one to comment on the post below (I'll start us off).
Hopefully we can send this link to Lee so he gets an idea of how many people are thinking of and praying for him during his recovery. Please COMMENT BELOW with any positive thoughts you'd like to send his way, as well as your favorite college football team. It would be awesome if we could get a fan from every conference, state, and team represented!
Spread the word - sign the card - and Lee, we can't wait to see you on our TV sets again soon!

Not so fast my friend!
ReplyDeleteI met Lee in 2004 at the ESPN Club on the Disney Boardwalk in Orlando during the 2004 NFL Draft.
He was very friendly and down to Earth and even chatted with me briefly and shook my hand in between taping.
I always enjoy his insight and of course the trunk with the mascot head on Gameday!
Get well soon Coach!

Get Well! Go Volunteers!
ReplyDeleteWhat's up Lee...
ReplyDeleteI'll admit there are many times I disagree with you, but I love how you get fired up about the game of college football. Watching you put the mascot head on at the end of the broadcast is one of those college football traditions that will forever be remembered.
My mother suffered a stroke a while back so I know how it is man.
Best of luck for a speedy recovery and get well soon!

ReplyDeleteWhat's up man,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say I hope you get better and you are one of those figures that goes synonymous with college football. You putting on the mascot head at the end of every college football gameday broadcast is one of the great college football traditions out there.
Best of luck for a speedy recovery and best wishes man!

ReplyDeleteLee, College Game Day is what it is because of the passion you bring to your analysis, your picks, and your good-natured ribbing of the fans. I look forward to seeing more if the same in 2009!

ReplyDeleteCFB fans everywhere can't wait for your first "Not so fast, my friend" aimed at Herby and the first head gear you don. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.
Now, please tell me Doug Marrone is going to get it done at Syracuse?
Lee, As a stroke survivor myself, we both can be so grateful that we made it safely to the other side. A stroke can only be described as an instant concussion, hangover and LSD trip all at once and comes close to literally scaring you to death. Take your meds, listen to your doctors and take it a bit easier.
ReplyDeleteSee you in the fall.
